Scary; seeing writings that contain so many words and so little truth. Where might be the source of your hatred, I wonder?

Mr. Posner's analysis is bang on. Bosnia has always been a region of three peoples, none of which developed a Bosnian identity. Certainly not the Serbs or Croats. The West cheered as multiethnic Yugoslavia was ripped apart but then hypocritically demanded that Bosnia, which is little more than a mini-Yugoslavia, stay together.

The Serb minority of Bosnia fought to avoid being dominated and ruled by the Muslim community, which was at the time led by an extremist Alia Izetbegovic. The current Dayton Agreement gives the Serbs what they always wanted, complete autonomy and a degree of self determination within a unified Bosnia. There is peace and it should be protected.

Unfortunately the current Muslim leadership is agitiating and demanding that Dayton be scrapped which in turn has provoked the Serbs to correctly demand rights to a referendum on secession if that happens. If a new war begins, it will have been started exclsuively by the Bosnian Muslims. The West must strongly condemn and threaten any plans by the Muslims to scrap Dayton and to try, yet again, to subjugate the Serbian minority.

Your failure to understand history ought not be projected on to me. While there is no doubt that the land has been continually inhabited for quite some time, it has not been a distinct and unified country with an ethnically consistent people that are Bosnian. The first permanent inhabitants of Bosnia were the Serbs and Croats, who started arriving in the 5th century AD. Before them were only nomadic tribes and brief periods of foreign subjugation. So I stand by what I wrote.

Wow. Bosnia is one of the oldest nations of Europe. Funny you didn't consult a freshman-level history textbook even; yet you dare writing on "big boys stuff". In the end, you produced one of the world's most uneducated, half-baked misconseptions I've ever come across.
